The studio
Measurement as a public craft, kept small.
Net Mapcore began in 2019 after too many London stand-ups where a green chart ended the discussion. We built a room where the chart has to survive a question.
Mission
We exist so product teams in the United Kingdom can practise app analytics without performing certainty. A good event name, an honest cohort cut, and a letter that admits what the sample cannot support — that is the work.
We are not a software reseller. Platforms appear as instruments. The syllabus is judgement: when to split a funnel, when to refuse a north star, when to tell a founder that last week’s spike is seasonality wearing a costume.
Pedagogy
Each desk mixes a short lecture with a live critique of a real instrumentation sheet. Students bring a product they own or a public app they can inspect. Peers mark the naming debt; faculty mark the story that the numbers cannot carry.
Homework is a weekly metric letter of four hundred words or fewer. Length is a constraint because boards skim. If the exception is missing, the letter fails, even if the averages look composed.
Community
Alumni stay on a quiet list. Once a quarter we sit in Thornton-le-street or a hired room in York and read one anonymised dashboard together. It is not a networking mixer. If you want a badge, look elsewhere; if you want someone to notice that your activation event fires on a system screen, you will be among people who have made that mistake.
The student journey
You write first. A producer asks what product you will bring and which decision you cannot currently defend. Atlas Seat students receive recordings and worksheets. Meridian Desk students join the twelve-week critique. Cartograph Circle is eight seats and a private readout with Isla Penrose.
Completion is a portfolio artefact: a taxonomy, a retention definition signed by the student, and three metric letters. We do not issue a score out of one hundred. Employers who know the studio ask to read the letters, not a certificate watermark.
